Kuching Day 1

In life, you may have 1,000 friends or for the extroverted ones, 100k. Look into your Facebook, probably less than 1% of those are friends whom you can actually pour your heart to. You turn to them whenever you need a shoulder to cry on. You tell them everything repeatedly and they will not be annoyed. You know your concerns and secrets are in safe hands and you would do the same for them. Unconditionally.

A project put us together. We cursed. We cried. We laughed. We smoked. By the end of day, we just had to wave goodbye.

We continue to hang out after we finished the project together and of course, we did more things than just hanging out...

Yeah, we did crazy things together and we talked about it from time to time till today. We laughed about them and sometimes, we cried about them.

The last time we met before the Kuching trip, of course, was at the convocation last year in April. We hugged each other so tight that all the memories just flew back in seconds.

I admit that I took it for granted. That all of us are still in the same country and technology can bind us together. It was not long until Mich broke the news about her going to UK for further study. It hit me quite bad though I never want to recognize that feeling. Hence the decision to meet in Kuching.

We were counting down the days and it was super long. When it actually gets nearer, we started being chatty. We knew very well it would be a crazy trip again.

Was super excited that I took picture of the boarding pass :P

It's not the first time I fly solo but this time around, I felt super lonely! And that girl beside me, she can really sleep wei! She got her head swinging left and right like sibeh song. So yeah, double the loneliness for not being able to sleep.

Kim was not here when I touched down so I went to the loo. As I cam down from the escalator, I saw two awfully familiar persons back facing me. My lahlings! We hugged each other so tight! That felt REALLY good!

First thing we did, obviously, was to eat. The awesome kolo mee!

 Kim's retro wheels

this idiot was like walking behind me. When I tried to take a picture, he went in front of me and turn his head around. pfft

Lahling!

Pork satay. Different and better from those in Malacca. Confirmed!

Kolo Mee pang ang

loh xu fan. Kolo Mee style

Guess what, we just knew Mich doesn't eat pork. Like after so many dongkie years only we got to know it. Well, never too late I guess.

After makan, we walked around that area (damn, what is the name of that place?) I found this wheel in this antique shop. Like those which people used to transport stuffs. It has over 50 years of history. I MUST get it the next time I get back. Forgot to take picture also :S

We went to Kim's place after that. The parents are so sweet and they have this awesome house where they take care of every single small details. I never like to display delicate items at home since they collect dust fast. In Kim's home, I found no dust and what's more, there are so many of those displays! I'm amazed. Drop dead. Kim's mother also made curtains and cushion covers in flower prints! I think I was busy admiring the details that I didn't remember to take pictures. Next round. Next round.

Kim's father brought us for dinner and the again, the food was awesome! For the very first time in my life, I saw o-chien presented in a spaceship look.

Can you see the number of oyster on it? Super nais lo I tell you!

We had other things as well but more or less what we can get here. We has umbra juice and that got Mich visiting the toilet multiple times. Poor thing...

this is the culprit. I think it's double dose of what we usually have. Super kao!

You know some shops never die? Sunny Hill is one of those!

Kim's signature pose :P

Kim Kim's father! I think Kim's parents used to paktor here. Who wouldn't? I definitely will!

Even battling with stomachache, Mich still has room for ice cream :D

We tried to camwhore after the ice cream treat....

Mich: Face so big and Kim Kim is hiding! Retake!

Me: My eyes too sepet. Cannot! Retake!

As we did this, people around started to look at us. What to do, it's 12am in the morning already.

A good one finally. Still, Mich's hair blocking Kim's left eye.

 Instgarmmed it then!

That's the first day :) And we already sleeping late. Lol. More updates soon.

Change is Scary

It has been forever. I know. And I start almost every blog post with the same sentiment.

I have been doing some serious thinking about my job, relationships, friends and family. This one decision that I am going to make is going to make a lot of difference. It means a fresh start. It means sacrifices.

Opportunies

I'm having this huge dilemma that is causing me to lose focus with almost everything.

I have this big issue for getting bored too easily. I tend to jump from thing to another as and when my heart tells me so. I will fight the desire and if I failed, that will only mean that I wanted it too much.

I was given the opportunity to be exposed and to learn more things in the industry that never really crosses my mind. In my mind, I only knew that I can do this only once in my life.

Weighing what I have in hand, I thought it will be great if I "just do it". It was not difficult the first time around but the people had made it much harder than I can ever imagine this time.

I have to say that I felt really good when I was told about the opportunities that lay in front of me. I just wish that it will be truly realized soon.

.............

I never wait. Waiting is not really an option. I have bypassed both my high school and college life. I do not want to miss anything anymore. If there's something, I will grab it. Come what may.

One told me, "If I see a future and there's a potentiality to be actualized, I will stay, wait and see."

Between having to wait for opportunities and to actually to start doing something with uncertainties, which will you go for?

Lost Soul

To the lost soul of mine,

When you have wondered far enough and think that you should be home, remember to provide an indication.

Your aging physique

Wish List 2012

Last year, I wished for an iPod touch with an engraving. I got an iPod Nano from ex bosses.

I wished for a skin care system that is natural and friendly to my sensitive skin. I had a bad experience earlier this year and was forced to switch to something else. Thanks to bff, Shirley's recommendation to use Cetaphil. My skin is getting much better on top of the frequent consultation from the dermatologist.

I wished for a diary year 2011 and I was given one when I report to work. So, I can cross that out as well.

Down to two things that are not in my possession yet: a pin up drawing of myself and a Christmas log.

This time, I am giving up on the Christmas log. It is just too silly to wish for something like that at this age. *uh hum*

My new public wish list:-
1. Lytro Camera (http://www.lytro.com/)

Yes, it may look funny but this little camera can do wonders! Notice the above baby picture? You can just change the focus the picture with one click! Try it out yourself here.

2. Mac Book Air

This is a consequential request. Visuals from Lytro camera can only be processed by Mac :P

3. Smart for two

Wanted the car in the longest time I can think of. Perhaps since the day I lay my eyes on it.

Many of you may not know, I am quite a fan of Hello Kitty. Bla bla bla...

4. A trip to Bali

I love islands because I long for beaches. This year, I want to be spend a week in Bali.

5. 5 high heels

*Pictures are for illustration purpose only. Don't think I can even stand properly with the heart shape heels

[Movie Reflection] One Day

I have abandoned this place for a while. I know. I know...

Watched another movie on my own last night and this time, I really could not sleep.

There was no true friendship. They were madly in love with each other.
There was no rules. They were meant to be broken anyhow.

The moment when you walked past me, I know we will be together as long as I breath.

Realization came much later than expected and only time can heal. I am sure you will cure me out of you.

XOXO

Remembering Baba and Nyonya

Remembering Baba and Nyonya.

My memory of watching their dramas is fading. Somehow when I heard people saying things about Baba and Nyonya, I recalled Uncle Chee and Kenny.

The last time I saw the duo, as most of us did, was in Nasi Lemak 2.0. I was reminded of how humorous they are. I was once again brought back to the times when I watched their shows in front of the 14 inch TV set.

After Nasi Lemak 2.0, I went back home and was yapping away about how little I was when I used to watch their dramas. Boyfriend said he saw them once in a wedding dinner before. At the moment, I told myself that I want them to host my wedding reception too!

Duo no more. Uncle Kenny is left alone. RIP Uncle Chee. I <3 you
