Project Ryders - 1st Day (Bukit Damansara - Rawang)

This is how I am gonna blog about the 2 weeks. As what I did for the official blog, I will do a personal write up for each day of the event.

Woke up early in the morning and I am ready to roll. I don't quite remember what I did that night but I was feeling kinda tired in the morning. I was ready and be tolled on the road already

All of us were suppose to meet at Nic's place early. I went to LRT station to get KJ with Kai and by the time all 7 of us actually gathered, it was already much later than expected.

All luggages loaded in my small little bluey, time for warm ups (Suppose to have a video for it though...)

The bicycles that are gonna conquer our fear!

RYDERS!!!

"Peace"

The cyclists (Nic, Sharon, Ian & Jet) rolled on and car crews (me, KJ & Kai) went straight to Kepong petrol station to wait for their arrival.

Along the way, cyclists suffered from punchures and it had caused much delay.

Upon arrival, the cyclists begin to dismantle some parts of Ian's bicycle. Her bicycle was too heavy for her and had been very exhaustive for her.

After that, KJ offered himself to replace Ian.

The gung ho people

hippo-nyer...

Personal note: When I was waiting with the rest in petrol station, I doubted whether they are gonna make it there. I constantly received calls from Nic saying that there were punchures... I was VERY glad when I saw them arriving at the petrol station. I have to admit that at one point of time, I nearly gave out and thought of just go back home... Nevertheless, this is the chance given to me to learn and grow and I thought I should be strong once!

Reaching at Jet's place in Rawang, I am set to do what I suppose to do -BLOG

See how attentive I am?!

In the night, we had our very first sharing session. KJ was there to motivate all of us. We decided to change our strategy of approaching the crowd as well. Instead of asking people to sign on our pledge books, we get people to sign on our banner and buntings. With this, people can actually SEE how charitable they are. I did my sharing too. I was in tears sharing how much I felt for the physically challenged...

Jason Magbanua's

Something that I will try my best to avoid...

I thought it is the best until Ben sent me this and changed my mind.

Of the 2 weeks

Two weeks! Two weeks I had been away and I amazingly learnt a lot.

Project Ryders is meant to create awareness amongst the public about their existence and the work they do for the physically challenged. I had a post in the official blog about how I felt about the project initially.

There were numerous amount of emotions intesecting with each other at the same time. It is the first time I reached out to the world and do something that I always wanted to do. I want it to be significant and worked at its best...

I supposed to be the cyclist for this project. Due to safety issues, I decided to let Sharon replaces me instead. Good thing that she was there with us. It is hard to imagine how it turned out to be without her. However, I cycled too. In fact, almost all of us had the chance to cycle in these 2 weeks.

Introducing you, Nic - the master mind of Project Ryders

Ian - the enthusiast

Jet - the one who got me into this

Sharon - the strongest of all

KJ - the multi roled photographer

Kai - the slow to warm one

MooMoo - the sweetest mistake

I will post up more about the 2 weeks I had spent after this. More errands to run =)
