Richard's Wedding

All the way up North for nearly 400 km's, this is the event that I wouldn't wanna miss - Cousin Richard's wedding.

So I heard from many that their friends are getting married and I was wondering when will I have the chance to attend any since the last had been long ago.

Being here and witnessed every detail of the ceremony though was tiring but it was fairly meaningful to me. Emotionally and physically we are not attached but somehow or rather, we can well clicked with each other. That was the reason why we are sometimes seen very close in the church and family outings. Some of my mom's friends actually thought I was dating him...GG

So I am here to be part of this.

As early as 5.30am, I pulled myself up from the bed... Spent some time searching for what to wear.

Wearing brother's huge geeky spec

So we were in Lunas driving to Penang island to pick up the bride.

Richard kissing the bride in her place

Looking good as ever

<3

This is an intermarriage which means they are not of the same religion background. It took some time for the whole of the progress to finish and I was heated up like a stuffed pig. I think no one will disagree with me for that.

Mom, the couple and some of them were trapped in the lift

After picking her up, we went back to Lunas and there, people drank tea and I got my ang pau. Yes, another long process. Try this, my grandmother has 11 children and my cousin has a son who is of the same age as my sister. Yes, loads of them! Seriously, I didn't bother to stand in there to see everything. I know they video-ed it =P

Next, we proceeded to St. Anne's church. If I were to anyhow get married. This is the church i wanna be wed. No where else.

Mom + I

The 4 of us + Richard

Best man

Awaiting for the moment...

I was forced to stand there... to see where the bouquet will go to

After the service, we went to the opposite restaurant for wedding "lunch".

We were darn bored while waiting for the bride to change and food to come... Camera has its good.

Pas-sion

I just remember that I had blogged about Project Ryders here before and that I am gonna describe each day of the 2 weeks with the enthusiastic others.

Now, I no longer see the relevance to it. I am going to make it better event and shift back the actual focus to ILS.

Project Ryders 2010 will take place and I can assure you that it is gonna be a blast for me and TalentEdge (The company which I currently work for). I am going to meet more people to communicate my ideas and get them to venture into it and hopefully to channel what I intended to them. I wanna talk to you if you like to cycle while doing charity work.

let's talk about passion. The word "passion" always pops up during Plugged since the first session. Not too long ago (like 4 hours ago), we had our fourth session. The turned up crowd was not great. I guessed it is most probably the result of the exam period or the semester break. Students are going back to hometown to study (which I doubt its effectiveness) and probably to stuck their head into the many books that they need to revise after the many sleepless nights in working on assignments.

My passion is human being in general and especially those who are in need. Thus, I am now basically a ambassador for ILS. Well, that is what I told my church members when I make a request to get them to take the donation cards.

Second passion is the environment. I used to hate the job of recycling. One of my parents' friend was working on their recycling project in church and I was asked to manage the rubbish every Sunday after mass. Hate it but I managed to get a hang of it until I realise the rationale. It took a while but at least I do. Bravo to Uncle Don! I am gonna do something about this passion. I mean.. something like a project.

Third passion is just... typical. I am into fashion but as you know, I don't really follow each and every one of them. Identity is very important to me and thus I wanna establish a clothing that caters for people at my size and figure. Just so you know (not sure why am I declaring this but never mind...), I have short upper body and short neck. You don't really see me with polo T or round neck shirt. I do not want to look like an elf.

Not sure if you understand anything I write here and not sure if anybody is gonna read this. BLAH!

Of yesterday

This post is in response to Plugged series organised by TalentEDge.

For those of you whom I have not talk to 2 months ago, I am now working with TalentEDge. As part of the team, I am responsible in organizing the events and managing/coordinating projects.

One of the ongoing project is Plugged Series which aims to provide a ground for both employers and undergraduates/fresh grads to communicate with each other. This will last for 8 weeks and each week, a topic is introduce to moderate this informal discussion.

We had our second one yesterday. I was reminded of my actual passion.

A few weeks ago, I attended some video sharing in Annexe Gallery. It was about the Burmese refugees in Malaysia. I was extremely overwhelmed by their sorrows and sufferings. I was in tears. I felt their pain and at the same time I was helpless. I shared it with my colleague after watching them.

"You can do nothing now. What you can possibly do now is get a way to make money and divert them to the needy."

True.

A guest in Plugged yesterday, Ramkumar shared his life story about how he went about his business and retired.

"I want to help the old folks. I decided to find the easiest way to find a lot of money. My wife loves stones and so I invested in them."

Luck? Passion? Hard work?

I voiced my concern during the session.

"I have great passion in human beings in general especially the underprivileged. At the same time, I have high opportunity cost if I were to pursue my passion wholeheartedly as I bear responsibilities in aiding my family financially."

Elia from Graduan responded to my sharing.

"Grab the chance you have"

Zakir, a great man who found his way to make 1901 a Malaysian brand commented on it as well.

"Chances can be a manifestation. Do what you need to allow yourself to be exposed to chances directing to your ultimate goal."

Optimistic I know.

I told my colleague this just now.

"Everybody know these facts. Whether or not they act according to it is another issue."

Do something today or you die in 2012.

Random idea

Dear all,

I love McDonald but I extremely hate to produce the rubbish as a result of the food consumption...

Since the time I was exposed to a local environmentalist in my home town, I was well informed the negative consequences to the environment for eating fast food.

Thus, I hereby propose to you to do this with me. Bring your own fork, spoon, cup and plate the next time you visit McDonald. I am going to do this with a bunch of people who share the same views and the process will be recorded. I would LOVE to see how the public will react to this.

I hate lengthy post and thus this is gonna end right here. XOXO
