Miss Chin's Milestone Party

Feel the positive ions!!

April is my best month, as always. Back when I was still studying, April has not been too nice to me. Despite the fact that it is my birthday month, I never liked the fact that it is also the exam month. Remember your yearly first semester final exam? When it falls on my birthday, I felt like my days are falling apart… “WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?!”

1. Setting foot to work

This year, it’s not the same anymore! I began to work and thus, no more exams. Unless there is a deadline for my work which I think, for now, is not really possible. Nothing much to say about my first job. As you can read here, I didn’t really have many things to say either.

2. Room warming

The day before my first day of work, I moved into the new place. Here, I start a new life. New place, new work. Almost everything is new now.

I think some of my friends have been told about the room warming since the days I got the confirmation to move to the new place. Here you are! Btw, it is just room warming, not house warming ok.

3. Convocation

Convocation on the 10th (Just so you know). Parents and siblings are coming to celebrate with me. For the very first time in our home, someone is getting a degree while the rest are still hammering the books till they get one. Not a super big thing for me. Well, I guess I will not know until the day has come.

4. 24th Birthday

What is most exciting is of course my birthday la kan? =P

Want a wish list or not? I can give you one upon request. Lolz.

I shall name this gathering as “Miss Chin's Milestone Party

**Dear church members, I am trying my best to set this event to be held after Easter Sunday but I realized the weekend after that is already May! I hope you are joining me for church camp. Looking forward to Sherman’s inspirational and fruitful sharing!**

Here are the details:-

THIS IS A POOL SIDE PARTY!!

Venue: Level 1, Casa Damanasara 2

Time: 8pm – 11 pm

Dress code: Casual/Swimming attire (so I have more reasons to push you into the pool)

Food served: [No dinner served. Let’s not do the Malaysian thing to only sit, eat and drink. Social sikit boleh? =P ]

1. Beers (Bf’s friends will be sponsoring), fruit juices, carbonated soft drinks, plain water

2. Finger food – potato chips, French fries, peanuts, chicken nuggets, sausages

3. Salad

4. Fruits

Here are the things that you MUST bring, or else… it’s just too sad that I have to feed you with other means or I will have to kick you out =D

1. Your own bowl/plate, fork, cup/mug and napkins (BYO = Brin Your Own)

· Rationale: To minimize the amount of solid waste that will be produced

· Do not worry about how to wash it. I will be guiding you to how to wash them before you start eating

· I am not trying to be difficult. I am trying to set a trend here which shall function as a standard to the gathering/event that I personally will be hosting in the future

· If you do not want to bring your own, you can use your hand to eat and drink from the pipe or something…

See you there!

Vivid Dream

Last night, I had a dream that my boss was driving me to lunch. On the way back from lunch, she said,

"Catherine, I just noticed you have double chin. Putting on some weight ya?"

This morning, I woke up thinking and feeling fat. As I reached the office, I realised that it was merely a dream. Because my boss doesn't drive!!

As I was telling bf about this just now, he said,

"You memang have double chin. This chin *touching my chin* and your surname is Chin"

The Wandering Mind

I was driving to One Utama and spotted this in the sky.

Someone told me it is the emission of the plane that is operated by a trainee pilot.

I wish I could do that too...

My First Full Time Job

My security pass.

Wrong name, it’s CHIN TZY YING. Don’t ask me why, it always happens. I think it’s my writing. I will TRY to write better the next time.

Can’t tell where I am working, ain’t it? =P

Here, I am taking up the greatest challenge to do something out of my comfort zone. It is something which I have never thought that I will be taking up for my full time job. It feels like listening to a different genre of songs that originated from Hulukan (Don’t ask me where that is. I don’t think it exists).

My mentor told me to think of it as being paid to learn. I actually feel better that way =)

I have something else that actually made my day pretty much.

I got an email from a fairly big company and the sender was requesting if I can take up the opportunity to work for them. I was reading it before I went to sleep last night. You can try to imagine how I was trying to keep myself down from making the news too surprising to anyone. To date, not many people are aware of this fact and I did not plan to make it known to everybody. Hated to be jinxed like the time before this. Oh well, I am only available for other posts in Sept. I am sure hope they will wait for me. Or else, it’s just too bad…

There She Goes Again

Ever since the first interview on 4th March, I sorta know that I am not gonna go for other interviews. I was thinking of making things better by not burning the bridge too soon for the others. I did that anyhow. In fact, I am glad that I did because that MADE time for me to do the necessary cleaning and moving.

Monday

Got the key in the morning. Headed to the The Bee for lunch. Contemplated in the restaurant. That was when a lot of picture taking took place.

As much as I do not want to skip the interview, I did. So, I went to Cold Storage and got the stuffs for cleaning purpose.

Before I started off with anything, I decided to have another series of picture taking. Intention: to have the satisfaction for having to be able to polish everything clean and clear.

After cleaning, I was bored. So I camwhored.

Tuesday

Suppose to have another interview but I sent the email JUST IN TIME to cancel it. This time, the real moving in!

I have to say that I am very proud of myself by having the room done by myself. Many thanks to you, Catherine! =P

I finally have my own dressing table! First one ever!!

Satisfied me

Yeah, that's my share of the wardrobe. Fully utilized!

I recently fell in love with taking pictures of my feet...

Uh hum, excuse me ah!

Raptors Watch – Annual Event by MNS

Vomited the night earlier and I guess I should be very much dehydrated. Well, that’s another story…

My cell group leader is one of those who think the idea of bird watching is exciting. Not for me, actually. However, I guess everything has its own first time.

On board with me was Chow Pong, the infamous environmentalist (He never admits that he is). There we go for the raptors watch in Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson.

Many cars. Seriously... Thinking back, I should have taken a picture of that to show you.

We took a tour to the mangrove. I was not completely thrilled if you ask me.

Understand this. I used to stay in “kampong” where snakes, reptiles, king fishers or other exotic animals like owls are normal to me. We see them almost every day. My aunt used to stay by the beach where my mom would brought the four of us there for picnic and when the season is right, we would be catching “lala” or in the more correct term, “siput”. The best part is of course the dinner!

Coming back to the tour, I found it really fascinating! A lot of things become clear to me. I always wonder why the concrete platform looks so weird with small stones on it especially when they are just next to the beach. I thought it may be the course of the water that pushes to the shore that eroded the initial structure of it. Well, now I know better that it is not! Living things are on it and I have been stepping on them for whatever reasons…

Our guide to the mangrove

Not dung ok! They are the sand balls the crabs made

roots

Found a heart shaped stone!

Look at the root! Look at the root!

We went up to the light house. I was really looking forward to it. Actual fact is that I went there just to see the light house within close distance. (I was in Port Dickson for more than 2 months and I never got the chance to do so. Shame on me.) Going up to the hill was a little exhausting. Thanks to the lack of physical excises. Yes, I did manage to go up there but it was nothing like I imagine. Expected too much out of it… As for the raptors, they were not out yet.

As we were in the café chilling, all of them began to wonder in the sky in group! It was a great view. U gotta see it to know what I am trying to word here.

This is not a green event. I can assure you. If you think animal lovers are equally passionate about preserving the natural environment, you may be wrong. Same thing applies, you may be wrong if you think environmentalists are equally passionate about animals.

That aside, when I said that it is not a green event, I mean to say that there are no or little measures taken to ensure that materials involved and used in this event are environmentally friendly. Nop, I am not talking Catherine terms (Some of you may know how critical I am when it comes to the carbon footprint). I think any layman can tell that the packagings used are not environmentally friendly. The irony. We can never get everyone to be aware of the impact they created. The fact that they are coming forward to the event and showing support to MNS is quite a good start. At least, they are not emitting carbon in the shopping mall or sleeping with air conditioner on for more than 10 hours. That’s my two cents worth.

Now, it just gives the energy to do something. I shall make this another blog post.

SPM Result Slip + Foundation Cert

Over the telephone with mom:-

Me: Ma, help me to find my Foundation cert and SPM result slip.
Mom: Where you keep?
Me: Somewhere at home.

Mom found my SPM cert magically and she asked if sister knew where I placed the Foundation cert. Sister called:-

Sis: Where you put your Foundation cert?
Me: Somewhere at home.

And then both Foundation cert and SPM result slip are on their way to PJ.
