Straw Attack!

I am kinda proud of the McDonald "stunt" (as Matthias previously put). Though not many turned up but the cashiers' expressions were just... took my breath away?! Was thrilled to see them all again.

We are reminded to carry our own bags to shop. We are also encouraged to bring our lunch boxes to tapau. Now, I am urging each one of you to do this with me - bringing your own eco friendly straws.

Let me tell you why:-

1. They are plastic. Should I say more?!

2. You like teh o ais limau, blended coffee, liong shui suit (iced herbal tea) and more many more cold drinks. You can't say no to this - that you love cold drinks because you are a Malaysian =D

I hope you agree with me in this - that you find it disgusting to use the plastic straw to suck up your drink because you know the machas' hands aren't really clean. *They hold the tip of the straw which is also the same place where you place your mouth and tongue*

3. When you order some drinks without ice like bali panas (Hot Barley), they will still stick a plastic straw in your drink despite the fact that they know it is hot. Try to imagine the possible leaching of chemicals into your beverage.

4. Straws are not reusable and even if they do, I don't think you like the idea...

5. Stop the habit of you biting the straws... *_*

***************************************************************

I was googling "Eco Friendly Straws" and I found 2 types:-

1. Stainless Steel Straws - Real Green Goods

2. Glass Straws - Glass Dharma

I try to search online but I can't find any local stores that sell any of them. Tell me if you know any and tell me also if you wanna purchase one with me =)

I particularly like this design. The coloured dots have their function - to stop your straws from rolling down the table!

Tali Tenang: Calm & Cool Rayat Coming Together... YEAH!

Last Saturday, I told the whole world that I am on the random move again. Well, not really the whole world but whoever asked me... (such a no-lifer kan. ANYWAY, that's not the point)

Always look up to RA for their random activities. What I like about them is that:-

1. It's random?!
2. They always employ simple act to project the messages intended especially this one!
3. Always a great place to know more people.
4. A great chance to get snapped! Lolz
5. To know how active individuals in social media look like in real life.
6. Something to tell friends and make their jaw dropped =P
7. Great venue to observe the hyped up people.
8. Cause no one will complain that I am too hyper or talk too much...
9. No cost involve!
10.Putting a smile on public individuals =D

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep, this is the event. The FB invite was like this:-

Remember ‘KL Freeze in Union’? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psOfYLtKk34

We want to reunite with you!

So much has happened in the last few weeks that has cause our country to be buzzing with agreements and disagreements.

But we’re proud that despite all that’s happened, we the Rakyat, have managed to keep our cool.

Let’s celebrate the fact that we have grown up to be a level-headed cool lot! Let’s inspire those not-so-cool to be cool :]

Let’s do something symbolic. Come with a piece of rope/string and we will tie them together to make one long, beautiful, cool rope that represents each and every one of us.

We will then take our fantastic work of art on a short, 15-minute tour for our fellow Malaysians to see.

Come and join us! Anyone and everyone! All you have to do is:

1. Bring a piece of rope/string the length of your right arm [Any colour or texture]

2. Wear a white t-shirt

3. If you have a Malaysian flag, bring it along

Most importantly, share this news with your friends and you, of course, must come too!

---------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not sure how many people who came really understand the underlying purpose but I know very well I do.

This is an event where I can express the message on my badge that says,

"SAYA ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA: One People, One Nation"

The gathering point

Danny's first random event with RA

We tied the string we brought and did a parade to Bangsar Sports Complex
Not everyone come in white... How well do we take instruction?

I did not know I am gonna WALK! However, I think I dressed accordingly. At least I am not on heel.

At the finishing point.

Did not take many pictures as I was busy walking, laughing and talking rubbish on people's request for their videos. One day of jakun I was.

There are multiple blogs, pictures and videos uploaded. Just google it...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A piece of my mind:-

1. It is extremely difficult to get everyone come on time... in Malaysian context of course. Again and again I rest my case.
2. Twitter rocks!
3. It is of socially desirable to show your friends in FB that you are "attending" events as such. Thus it explains the actual number of people who turned up.
4. You may not care about what the BIG people do and say but when it is giving you sleepless night, you gotta wake up and do something!

for TalentEDge members

As I leave TalentEDge, I learnt the values of managing talents and the search for them.

I had gone through some phases to learn to work independently and I had tasted the fact of lack of resources and the means to the end.

I received much support from the two bosses and I am glad I was being taken care of throughout the 3 months. No regrets.

Just wanna express my gratitude to everyone in TalentEDge (though not many):-

1. Melvin Chan

Thanks for the many tips and support you offered. They meant a lot to me and I will bear them in mind whenever and wherever. Do remember to write me the recommendation letter =P

2. Danny Ng

Despite the fact that you are constantly occupied, I appreciate that you made time for me and the people I dragged into. Stay in touch and offer me some juicy opportunities! =D

3. KJ Wong

Thank you for joining TalentEDge upon my request. Hope you found the very platform for your personal growth.

4. Si Yan Loh

Many thanks for saying YES to join TalentEDge. Knowing that you are super busy, may 2010 mark the stepping stone for your future endeavor.

5. NCBF

Never thought you would wanna join me in projects but I am super duper glad that you did. Despite the blockage of projects, I strongly believe we will have chances to work together again! =P
